Job description

The everyday work of a plastics technologist is exciting, versatile and varied. Qualified plastics specialists process polymer materials into a wide variety of profiles and seals. For example, for the construction industry, vehicle construction, mechanical engineering, etc. Due to the wide range of products and the ever-increasing requirements and new material developments, the plastics technologist is constantly faced with new challenges. They set up modern machines and production lines and ensure products are of a high quality. The specialist knowledge acquired let plastics technologists sample new tools, optimise process sequences and transfer their work from theory to practice.

Vocational requirements

  • Completed secondary school or comparable secondary school certificate with good results in mathematics
  • Interest in chemical and physical processes
  • Good comprehension and spatial imagination
  • Handicraft skills, interest in technical profession
  • Enjoyment in operating state-of-the-art systems and analysing processing tasks

Training and working environment

The apprenticeship to become a plastics technologist lasts 4 years. Training takes place both inside and outside the company. If you do well, we also offer an exchange with another plastics processing company in the region to enable you to broaden your horizons.
